Conscious Birth offers Baby Blessing Ceremonies as a non-religious celebration of a new, precious and unique life. Facilitated by Theoni, a Baby Blessing is a joyous event where you can formally welcome your child into your world of friends and family and express your hopes and intentions for your child. Theoni will work with you to specially create a ceremony which has meaning for your personal, cultural and spiritual beliefs. As an example, a ceremony can include any of the following elements:

• The Naming: you have an opportunity to share reasons why your baby’s name was chosen and the dreams you have for your child.

• Vows: you commit your intentions as parents to your child which can take the form of a promise, poem, verse or blessing. Older siblings might also pledge their commitments as a brother or sister.

• Involvement of others: the people chosen by you as mentors of your child come up to accept the role and pledge their interest in the moral and ethical development of your child.



• Grandparents:  have an opportunity to make promises in the form of love, support, guidance, patience and understanding that they wish to provide for your child.

• Gifts and tokens can be exchanged to symbolise the importance of the ceremony.

Any additional traditions and rituals can be accommodated into the ceremony to ensure that it has unique meaning for you and your family.

It was very special for everybody involved. Nobody was sure what to expect... As always you made everybody feel at ease and comfortable with giving their individual blessings. The ribbons were great for kids and adults!! Thank you so much for creating a beautiful memory!
